FOCUS

Focus on what truly matters

I had the word FOCUS surface in my heart again and again as we approached 2026, and in a year that’s already felt super unpredictable, distracting, and chaotic, I can now see why I needed to be reminded to focus. As the world's noise grows louder, it seems that focusing on what truly matters is becoming less of a resolution and more of a lifeline.

Focus isn’t just a productivity skill; it’s a way of protecting our peace, and in a world that's pulling at our attention from every direction, this becomes even more important. When we choose what to give our time, energy, and resources to, we begin shaping the boundaries that protect our energy and our purpose.

So this spring, don’t just focus on spring-cleaning the physical items that take up our time and energy, but also focus on the mental clutter. This is not only good for our health but will also help create financial clarity. I know that for most (including me), this is much easier said than done, but every small step will be worth it.

The eagle doesn’t fight the snake on the ground

I heard this recently, and it seemed to match my “focus” theme. They said that instead of fighting the snake on the ground, the eagle will grab the snake and lift it high into the air, changing the battlefield where the snake’s greatest weapons are useless. This reminded me how prayer is our greatest weapon against evil. This is all a spiritual war. Change the battlefield, and take everything up to Jesus in prayer.

Protect your peace, simplify where you can, and give your best attention to the things that build your life, not drain it. Today’s focus becomes tomorrow’s clarity.

Stay focused, stay faithful, and let every small step move you closer to the life God is calling you to build.

“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” - Colossians 3:2

I feel we are all students of one another, learning from each other’s strengths and weaknesses. I am not a financial advisor, but I am continuously learning on my journey to become financially independent, and I’m passionate about teaching others how to do the same. Come learn with me so we can live our best lives and then spread our wings to help others do the same
